When living in Paris, I collaborated with musicians on two occasions.
In 2007, I wrote lyrics for Others as a mirror, Amalgame and Prayer for an endless living comedy, songs by All Angels Gone, a post-rock band based in Paris.
In 2008, I assisted composer Pierre Agut in close-reading the Epistle to the Romans in the original Greek, as preparatory work for a cantata based on that text.
I’ve been involved in music through singing – a practice that naturally complemented my interest for language and words.
In 1999-2001, I was a singer in The Sorbonne Scholars, a music ensemble specialising in English and French Renaissance music. In 2002-2004, I was a singer with the Choeur de la Sorbonne, singing European classical, romantic and contemporary music. With the choir, I toured in St Petersburg, Russia. In 2009, I sang with the St Francis Church Choir in Melbourne.
I wouldn’t mind starting singing again.
