In 2010, I was the artistic director of Love Journeys: stories of Gay and Lesbian migration to Australia: a mixed-media exhibition with text and photograph, auspiced by the Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council, and presented in January 2011 at Alliance Francaise de Melbourne as part of the Midsumma Festival. This project was supported by the City of Port Phillip through the Cultural Development Fund. The exhibition was featured in Cherrie Mag and Alliance Magazine.
It was shown again in November 2011 as part of the Adelaide Feast Festival, in the beautiful setting of a shipping container. Comments, once again, were very favourable.
Prospects for 2012 are a possible tour to Alice Springs, and interest from the Immigration Museum in Melbourne. To be continued.
In the years to come, I hope to set up an exhibition on churches in Melbourne’s inner city, under the title Southern Crosses.
